  • Romantic and Relaxed Wedding at Solitude Springs | Ashaway, RI

Tayla & Tamara How Did She Propose? The plan was to take a hot air balloon ride over Northampton, MA and pop the question mid flight. Tayla had arranged for her and Tamara's family and close friends to be holding posters reading, "You better say yes!" as they descended, with a champagne celebration and dinner to follow. After already having to find a backup secret photographer the morning of, as the original photographer cancelled last minute, Tayla was discouraged when the balloon was unable to fly because of unsafe winds. The backup photographer swiftly saved the day and directed us to a nearby bridge. As we turned the corner to enter the bridge, our family and friends were already there (again thanks to the amazing work of the photographer) holding the signs. Somehow, it wasn't until then that Tamara figured out what was happening. What could have been a disaster turned out to be everything and more-- she said yes! Almost a year had passed since Tayla proposed, but Tamara wanted to return the gesture. She didn't want to propose immediately, simply because Tayla had, so she waited for the perfect time. After a long day at work, Tayla found a map and a peanut butter & jelly sandwich taped to the front door of their house. She had about an hour to get ready and meet Tamara at an undisclosed location. Driving down a rocky path in the woods, the map led Tayla to a tiny cabin. Only half way through the door, Tamara pulled Tayla into the candlelit cabin and sang, or attempted to sing, "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur over an acoustic recording she had a friend make. Midway through the song (and some tears), Tamara asked Tayla to marry her. It was absolutely perfect, and just the kick we needed to get planning this wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Boho, relaxed, romantic and fun. The venue is on old native american ritual grounds and it is a sanctuary for old retired animals. Tamara is a huge advocate for animals and as soon as we saw all of the wildlife and beautiful gardens we knew we were done looking. In what ways are you most alike? We both really enjoy travel and adventure. We have been all around the world together. We are both silly but very analytical people. What are your honeymoon plans? We are traveling to Thailand and hopping around to a couple of different cities and an island off the coast. Why did you choose SMS Photo to be a part of your big day? We had a friend that used SMS and we fell in love with the pictures and how friendly Shannon was. • Connecticut River Valley Inn Wedding | Glastonbury, CT

Charline & Brennen How did he propose? Brennen knew that my niece and nephews were extremely important to me and knew how meaningful it would be to have them a part of the proposal. He went through a box of keepsakes that he had been collecting since we met, he proceeded to share some of the items from the box with my niece and nephews and then pulled out the RING! My niece and nephews reacted with shock and he then proposed to me... It melted my heart when my 9 year old nephew stated "well...welcome to the family Brennen!" What was your first date? How did it go? We were set up by his mom who is a teacher that I work with! We went to a Chinese restaurant and he had a back up plan just in case. We ate, talked the whole time, took a walk to an ice-cream place on a very cold night at the end of the month of November. What kind of vibe are you trying to create? Relaxed rustic Why did you choose your venue? Is there anything special about the venue, location, etc. that you particularly like? • Timeless Heritage Hotel Wedding | Southbury, CT

Abby & Tom How did he propose? Tom proposed on Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport Maine. With the help of Abby's sisters, he spelled out "Abby Marry Me?" in shells. Why did you choose your venue? Is there anything special about the venue, location, etc. that you particularly like? We chose the Heritage Hotel because we have many friends and family flying in and we wanted a place where we could all be together for the weekend. In what ways are you most alike? We both enjoy spending time with our families and grew up spending our summers in Maine (Tom in Ogunquit and Abby in Kennebunkport). We both love ice cream and Reese's. In what ways are you most different? Tom is quick to start doing and figuring things out as he goes. I'm one to follow directions. Tom likes to go with the flow. I like to have a plan. What are your honeymoon plans? We leave the Monday after the wedding for Hawaii. We are staying on Maui and Kauai. Neither of us have been before. Why did you choose SMS Photo to be a part of your big day? Some of our closest friends, Cait and Joe Muro, used SMS for their big day and for baby pictures. We reached out to them and they highly recommended SMS Photo.
